Tuwhakairiroa Williams is the Chairman of Te Pūtahi Paoho – the Māori Television Service Electoral College which is one of Māori Television’s two stakeholders.
Mr Williams is an independent consultant, widely sought for his expertise in public sector strategic policy advice and advice on Treaty of Waitangi issues. In 1989, he co-wrote a book on the treaty which is widely used in secondary schools throughout the country and he is often called upon to facilitate workshops on treaty issues.
Mr Williams’ work in the Māori sector is also wide and varied. He has knowledge of and involvement in tribal development issues in areas such as resource management, customary fisheries, health, education and welfare.
